Sustainability

Hydrometallurgical copper extraction is a process that uses chemical solvents (typically acid or alkaline solutions) to dissolve copper from ores or concentrates, followed by recovery of metallic copper from the solution. Compared to traditional pyrometallurgical copper smelting, it offers significant sustainability advantages:

- Environmental protection: Zero SO₂ emissions;

- Resource efficiency: Suitable for processing low-grade ores and complex mineral deposits;

- Energy savings: Operates at ambient temperatures with relatively low energy consumption;

- Versatility: Particularly well-suited for oxide copper ores and certain refractory sulfide ores;
